Energy balance means that the intake of the energy from food and physical consumption of energy is in a relative balanced state. It is very important to maintain body energy balance which is a basic condition to ensure the body health. If energy intake is more than energy consumption, redundant energy will be stored in the body in the form of fat, after a certain time people will become obese naturally. Obesity not only increase unnecessary burden of the body, but also easily lead to a variety of diseases. If energy intake is less than energy consumption, as long-term unable to make ends meet, the body  had no choice but to use the original body fat storage to supplement the energy, so people will gradually become thin and the body’s resistance decreases.

How to judge whether the energy is balanced or not?  The simplest way is to observe the body weight. Weight, as a mirror,  reflect if our state of energy metabolism inside the body is balanced. Under normal condition, if the intake of food by a healthy adult is roughly equal to the consumption of energy,  weight will remaine nearly unchanged. While if your weight continues to increase, it means that you eat too much and exercise too little; on the contrary, if the weight decreases, it shows that your energy intake from food is less than the body’s energy consumption.
