Postpartum obesity is a popular problem now while women are easy to get fat after parturition. The reasons of postpartum obesity are those: on the one hand, the process of pregnancy cause a temporary disorder of the sexual gland function of the hypothalamus , especially loss of balance of fat metabolism; on the other hand, postpartum women take in large quantity of high-fat and high-protein food, so that the intake of the nutrient is greatly more than the requirement, and very few physical exercise can consume energy substantially, eventually the body fat cells was filled. The two aspects have become the basis of postpartum obesity. So how to prevent postpartum obesity? A lying-in woman should do as following:
First is a regular diet
A regular diet is the primary method to prevent postpartum obesity. Though we Should take in more nutrient after delivery, we should not have a one-sided diet or eat too much chickens, ducks, fish, meat or eggs. We should eat meat and vegetable reasonably, so we must have milk, vegetables, fruits and staple food, and have less animal oils, fatty meat, animal internal organs and sweets. It will not only meet the body’s need for protein, mineral, vitamin, but also prevent obesity.
Second is early exercise
Lying-in women who are healthy and free from maternal perineal tear should get out of bed to do exercise after 24-hour of their delivery and do slight household chores after a week. In addition, they should adhere to a daily walk after dinner to promote the regulation of metabolism, promote lipolysis and consume the excess energy of the body to prevent obesity. A week after their delivery, the women should do postpartum gymnastics. At the very beginning,they can stay in bed to do long-term exercise to train muscles on the waist and abdomen. It is very effective to reduce the fat on the abdomen and buttocks significant effect. Postpartum exercise is the most important method to prevent the postpartum obesity.
Third is breastfeeding
Breastfeeding can urge the secretion of milk, which not only is very good for infants but also can promote maternal metabolism and nutrient circulation, so that it can excrete the excess nutrients in the body tissues and reduce the accumulation of fat in the body to prevent the the reputatal obesity and lose weight rapidly . it is conducive for the lying-in women to lose weight.
